Welcome to no-to-the-dome, an information resource for those objecting to the planning application for an inflatable dome on the tennis courts at the North Circular Road end of Cavehill Tennis Club.

We aim to foster community engagement, encourage active and constructive participation and support local efforts to ensure residents voices are heard in planning decisions.

The local community has expressed several concerns regarding the proposed inflatable dome, including:

Noise pollution
Light pollution
Loss of residential amenity
Traffic congestion
Parking issues and loss of pavement access for those in wheelchairs or with prams
Commercialisation of the dome
Its non traditional and industrial appearance within a residential area
Loss of access to light
Proximity to Somerton Conservation Area

We respect the club members’ rights to enjoy their sport, we think that they should respect the rights of the local community to enjoy their homes and neighbourhood.

Join over 140 local residents who have officially submitted objections via the Planning Portal and find out more about how you can voice your concerns.
